On route back to Donegal from the CitizenScape PEC3 Meeting in Brighton on 1st & 2nd December 2008 it was very obvious that we entering a critical time period for the project.
It was good to finally see what our actual CitizenScape Websites will look like. This in turn has served to give us as project partners a better idea of what we actually need to be doing, what content we need and how to it will be sourced and presented.
Since the Brighton meeting, we have had a couple of technical meetings here in Donegal to discuss some of these issues and to decide on an appropriate way forward.
In terms of organising further stakeholder meetings, this has proved to be difficult due to the proximity of the Christmas holiday period and the availability of some of the stakeholders. The earliest date we could get for a stakeholder meeting is early January 2009. This should still give us adequate time to get things in place for the Brussels review at the end of next month.
On the plus side, there will also be briefing sessions here with our Head of Information Systems and with the Director of Water, Environment & Emergency Services. These should take place before we break up for the holiday period.
We have also been looking at RSS Feed generators since we came back and have settled on RSS Feed Creator Pro which we will use for the CitizenScape Project. It is our intention to get our stakeholders to populate these feeds and any other content which is appropriate.
Finally, with the Project Review taking place in Brussels on 30th January, there is a lot of work to be done in a short space of time. Busy times ahead.
Best wishes to all for the holiday season.
