It's great news to see the noise mapping one on there. Steve Crawshaw has been working with Defra on noise mapping in Bristol, and we will be linking to this from our Citizenscape site.

It was good to meet up with everyone again in Brighton and I came away feeling very enthusiastic.
After the Brighton meeting I spoke with Steve Crawshaw, our co-ordinator for environmental quality in Bristol. He has already done lots of very good work on mapping noise pollution in Bristol. I updated him on discussions at our meeting and showed him the demo site. We were able to start workin on a media and marketing plan for Citizenscape so we can be sure we are reaching as many people as possible with the site. Steve has written a press release that is all ready to go when the Citizenscape site goes live.

I have met with our Waste/Recycling offier and presented the results of the Decemeber meeting to her. Outlined what the site will look like and what goes where etc. You know you've got someone's interest when they start asking questions like can we do this? Can this be used for that group etc? Needless to say she really likes the ideas.
ON the discussion boards she had a good idea of creating threads for green schools (as this is a pan european initiative we could possibly get the green flag schools in the progect regions to join the discussion when it starts!). A thread for tidy towns groups.
A wiki for tidy towns info. Apparently existing groups get plenty of request for application forms and ideas on how to set the group up etc...
Anyway we've agreed to meet a local green flag school and tidy town committee in the new year to have our first stake holder meeting outside of any council meetings.
So Happy christmas to you all. Nollaig Shona díobh go léir
